Growing...

Finally my hair is growing!
I am pretty faithful to my haircut every three weeks. I have a hairstyle that requires maintenance and my hair generally grows pretty fast. I am very excited to say that after having the same hairstyle for four years, I am finally letting it grow! I haven't had my hair cut since February 16th! Go me!!!!

Blogger Friends...

Today I realized that I have been blogging for over a year... and it has been a pretty good year! I have loved being able to share the craziness of my life with family and friends that we do not get to see everyday. I like that I have an outlet to vent, seek advice, and truly just release my emotions, pure and raw. I like that I am able to take a little time (sometimes not enough) and write. I have always loved writing and I have always wanted to be a better writer.

This year I have written 72 entries to the blog.
I have had 2,256 pageviews.
Audiences from all over the world... Shout out to Alaska!
27 comments on my entries.

I am hoping for the next year of my blog to increase all of the numbers. Not so much because I want to see high numbers, but because I love this. I love writing and I love reading and following the blogs of other inspired people in their little virtual space of heaven.
Today, I have spent some time finding new stories and spaces that I have fallen lost into the words of the writers. I am excited to follow and make new blogging friends.

Here is to another great, crazy year with my family, friends, and my blog!

Weekend Love

This weekend was just what I needed. I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and motivated.
My weekend started early on Friday. I left my office at 3:15 and went straight to the nail salon for a little nail therapy... It was fabulous! Friday night Jordan, Amanda, and I went to celebrate Amanda's new job. A laid back and fun girls night was perfect!
Congrats Amanda!

Saturday the kids and I did puzzles, watched Mickey Mouse Twice Upon a Christmas (I know, I know... but they love it), and went to Gramie and PaPa's house for dinner. My mom made amazing turkey sausage and potatoes and I surprised my dad with an orange dreamsicle cake... It was to die for!

Sunday we spent the day with my in-laws... had lunch and spent the entire afternoon outside. I have a farmers tan and two babies who played hard! Later that night we went to quarter mania bowling and the kids were asleep before we were done.
Lyric... Headed to see Ma-Maw and Pa-Paw

She was loving her shades and pink elephant... cracking me up!
This guy :)

The weekend was amazing. I was reminded of how blessed I am.
This week will be wonderful, and the week after, and the many to follow. I will constantly remind myself that even though I am busy and sometimes may not be doing the most lavish of things, I am making memories and loving. Happy Week all! <3

SIDE NOTE :
I am participating in the March of Dimes walk for babies!

Most of you know my sweet Remedy had a rough go early in her life... and this will be our second year doing the walk. If you would like to donate please click here... Thoughts and Prayers

When I fell asleep last night I couldn't help but feel sad. Sad for all those affected by the bombs in Boston. Sad for all the families that lost a piece of their normal. Sad for all the people who will be haunted by what they saw. Sad for everyone who sits and watches the news and feels helpless. Sad that sometimes we do not feel safe. Sad that I am wondering where all the good people in the world have gone.

I cannot imagine how this will impact our country...
I envision an America where will all pull together and lift one another up in prayer and praise and for that I am happy.

Happy that I live in a place where team work and family is something we hold dear. Happy that tragedy after tragedy we consistently function in a manner of integrity and hope.  Happy that even though I cannot be a hero in this event, I can, from hundreds of miles away make a difference.

Boston... thoughts and prayers are with you.

By-Pass Check In

So my mom had her gastric by-pass surgery on the 26th of November and I am super excited to report that she is down over 70 pounds! It is like she is a whole new woman! And still no insulin! I am so proud... not only does she look amazing, but she feels excellent and she has been so wonderful with making great food choices, being responsible for the amount she eats and drinks, and still having a great time and enjoying life to its fullest!

New Adventures

Well, we are starting a new adventure, bike riding.
Remedy testing out the wagon!
It is something that Terry and I have been talking about since last year and just never got around to making it happen. Finally, we were able to invest in two bikes, new seats and covers, a basket, and a buggy to tote the kiddos around in. I am really anxious for our first ride as a family. I think that it will be great exercise for us, relaxing for Lyric and Remedy, and we live in the perfect area to be able to make these fun family memories.
Funny story...
We bought the bikes last night. Found a good deal and loved the purchases. Terry and I had the kids when we were shopping so we need the bikes in original boxes rather than assembled, for travel purposes. They had his bike boxed, but my bike was only available assembled. Terry still bought them both and since we couldn't make them both fit in the car, he had his first ride last night! He rode my bike almost 7 miles... Impressed!

Wish us luck on our first family bike adventure!
Mine is clearly the one with the basket... haha

Inspired

Lately I have been very exhausted. I have been so busy at work and then we have been going non stop it seems as a family that I feel like I never have a minute to just do nothing. And the time when I feel like I have to do just nothing, I end up sleeping. I feel like for the past week or two, I need something to inspire me, a project or something. The more I think about what could inspire me the more I realize that what I need is not a tangible thing. I need to stop and see. Not just look, but actually take the time to see what all I have around me. To see the happiness, love, and laughter I am surrounded with. I need to be inspired with feelings. I need to burst out laughing for no reason. Cry during a sappy chic flick. Scream at the top of my lungs in the crisp air. Once I do things, for no reason, with no thought or hesitation, I will feel the heavy and full feeling I am longing for.
While thinking about all the crazy, zaney, careless, and harmless moving things I could do, I started looking through pictures of my family, and I started laughing...

Right now I am feeling full. I am loving hard. I am feeling incredibly inspired.

The Madness of March

I can honestly say that I did not even realize March is over. The month was very busy and that is the way I like it! Busy means memories, stories, chaos, laughter, frustration, stress, and pauses to take a quick breath. Those feelings light a fire in me. They make me want to be great... to make every event and huge staple or memory for my kids, drive me to experience things as an adult without my kids, and push me to be a better wife, mom, friend, worker, and me everyday.
Here is a small run down of March...

We did family pictures at the beginning of the month... I PROMISE A POST OF THEM IS COMING!

We went on a fun play date with our friends Kyler and Reese and their awesome mommy Rachel.

Lyric and Remedy have been sleeping so well in their beds and loving the new playroom!
We need stock in ImagiNext!
Digging for toys!

New beds... ahh!

We made some delicious Easter cookies... and made a visit to the Easter Bunny. It made me sad that Remedy did not like the Easter Bunny this year... and Lyric realized that he was not the REAL bunny... just a 'fake' as he said. Haha

I made a weekend trip with Jordan to Kansas City and it was amazing...! We shopped (a lot) and Saturday night I experienced Power and Light for the first time... I cannot wait to go again!
Headed out to shop
Shopping in the snow... Soooo worth it!

Ready to head to the Power and Light District!

Love this girl!

XxOo

Great girls trip!
Lyric went to the big boy dentist! No more kid stuff for him... lol. He did great! We do have to go back and I will post more as we have news!
Being a bog boy in what he called a rocket!

So brave!

My big little boy!

Such a stud!

April will be a busy month as well... but I will be a better blogger this month, PROMISE!

Coming up we have Grammie's Birthday, my work is having a Springfield Cardinals Day, Jordan's Birthday, T-Ball and lots of fun nights with family and friends...
Stay tuned!
:)
