Lego Land

Well... I knew it would happen... Honestly I thought that I had a little more time before it did but its official, We have entered the expensive world of Legos!

And exciting news... Well more like a secret cause Lyric has no idea, but his Daddy and I are taking him to the new LegoLand in KC for his birthday! I am so excited!!!!

Holiday Weekend

The long weekend was amazing! I enjoyed every second!
On Friday night the kiddos went and stayed with my mom for a few hours and I got to go to dinner with Jordan and then we did something a little crazy... We went and got her ink! She has been thinking about doing it for a while and I was so excited to be there with her and of course be my picky self and make sure she truly loved what she was getting...

Then on Saturday Jordan and I decided to take the entire day and spend it at the zoo with the kids. They had a blast and we got a work out! :)
Ready to see the animals

She loved the zoo!

Helping eat lunch little a good big brother

Train Ride

Happy Girls

Such a fun ride

The zoo was great! We were all tired but it was well worth the exhaustion!
Sunday we spent lots of time with my dad's side of the family! And then that night Terry and I took Lyric to see 'The Avengers 3D'!!!!! Jordan spent some quality girl time with little miss and Daddy and I got to spoil our little man a little!
He was Captain America at the theater!

Me and my little man eating pizza before the movie!
The movie was wonderful and Lyric was amazing! He sat and watched the entire thing, wore his glasses with no complaints, no bathroom breaks, and no tears... It was wonderful. I cannot wait for Remedy to be a little older and then she will be able to appreciate and enjoy the movie! Then we can make lots of fun family nights!
Monday, the holiday! We went to my mom's side of the family for lunch and then spent time with Terry's parents. As usual we stopped by Greenlawn cemetery and decorated Cammy's grave with flowers.
It was a nice weekend... Just time with the people I love the most. Little things that will be big memories! :)

Special Times

Oh my, we have been so busy lately and I have a feeling we aren’t going to slow down anytime soon. So just a little update…
We got Lyric’s tball schedule and were so excited for the first game! Of course Mother Nature ruined that and we got rained out… Oh well, this coming Monday we will get to see little man play his heart out!
This last weekend was busy!
Friday night I decided that I needed a little quality time with my favorite little man so Lyric and I had a date night! It was amazing. We had Wendy’s for dinner and then went to the theater to see The Lorax! Such a cute movie. We shared popcorn, Angry Birds gummy candies, and a big Diet Coke! The entire movie Lyric sat and watched so intently and laughed like he was so grown up. He would look at me and motion for me to come closer to him and then he would whisper in my ear, “Mom, did you see that? It was so funny!” or “Oh mom, he is not suppose to go outside of that wall.” And my favorite, “Mom, If you want a tree I will get you one because I love you too much.” It was perfect. We watched the entire movie (I saw entire because the attention span of a 3 year old in a movie theater where he has to be quiet and sit the entire time is not exactly great) and then played a few games in the arcade before heading home. We went and picked Remedy up from Gramie and then went home and just played. We played in his room with Power Rangers and the Batman house, we played in Remedy’s room with her kitchen and made an amazing bacon and egg dinner (pretend lol), and we all snuggled up in my bed and passed out! It was beyond perfect!
The beginning of our Date Night!
Saturday was Cinco de Mayo and also the March of Dimes Walk for Babies. Being that my work participates in this along with other charity events throughout the year I was very excited! I decided that I would take Remedy with me, it seemed fitting for her to come and support babies who like her were born early, most much earlier than she, and had to fight a little or a lot to make their mark on this world. She was a delight and honestly was so well behaved! We woke up bright and early and dressed in our finest Cinco de Mayo wear (that was the theme for our team). She wore an adorable brightly colored dress and we even went and got a fiesta headband that was incredibly obnoxious so she didn’t wear it very long. We packed the stroller; a few toys for entertainment, and our sunglasses and off we went! Just me and my girl, and the Gold Mountain crew! She was a star, everyone loved her and she was quite friendly. Honestly as we were walking and looking to the sidewalk with all of the posters in honor of sweet little survivors and tiny troopers that were watching from heaven, my heart felt so heavy. I was so sad for all the mommies, daddies, bubbas, and sissies that lost someone so special. I was so overwhelming happy for all these guys and girls that beat the odds and were now kiddos and young teens playing sports and being big helpers to their families. Most of all I was so thankful that my sweet little miss was only 3 weeks early, rather than most of the tributes who were born at 20-25 weeks. I was thankful that all the trials we had at the beginning of her life were just part of her that were different than normal and needed no surgery, just love and attention and time to teach her body to function the way it should. That walk honestly made me look at my baby a little closer and not that I ever took her for granted, but it made me realize how truly lucky I am. I will now be a faithful walker and contributor to the March of Dimes… Such a special program.
Ready to Stroll
After the walk it was time to switch into party mode because my whole family was going out to celebrate my Dad’s 40th Birthday! The kids went to my Aunt’s house and I had a night out! It was so much fun… and I think my dad had a blast. It was nice to go out and dance with not only Jordan (who is always my other half when I have nights out) and my little sister Taylor (who since turning 18 seems to go out with us a lot and we get to enjoy have a designated driver) but also to cut loose with my mom who works too much, my Aunt Stacy who lives in Arkansas, Cousin Leah who has two beautiful and active kiddos who keep her so busy, Uncle Jason and Aunt Stasha who are so fun but have jobs, a handsome little man, and big families that take up time much like mine, and my dad who I see less now that I am an adult and really miss him sometimes. We all just relaxed and owned the night! We had drinks, took several shots and toasted birthdays, family, happiness, and love. It was perfect! We topped the night off with a greasy, cheap, 2 am breakfast and then woke the next day to have a cookout with more family for a calm and kid-friendly celebration. This is more up my dad’s alley… a field, baseball, kids screaming, hot dogs burning, getting boots all muddy, and turning the radio up real loud in your truck. It was a blast! We sang Happy Birthday and Lyric helped his Pa-Pa blow out the ‘Over the Hill’ candle on his Cherry Pie. I hope when I am 40 I am as happy as my dad. Granted there are a lot of things in life that haven’t gone his way in the past few years but he somehow always has a great attitude and realizes the value of family and that is always his number one concern. Love him J
With the weekend at an end it was time to get back to reality! Work and back to boot camp! I am officially into the second week of my ten week boot camp and I am so proud of myself and super excited to see results! I am almost where I want to be! Last week I bought a size 5 in pants and I want to be a 3 so I am very close! I will post results and we do weigh ins and measurement checks!
This week we are excited for Tay-Tay’s last day of High School and a Graduation Party for her and friends, Dilynn and Destanie (cousins) are coming over Friday night to play with the kids, and Sunday is Mother’s Day so we will get to spend more time with the people we love most. Stay tuned for details and pictures from Tay’s grad party and Mother’s Day and I will be posting Lyric’s first game and then Taylor’s graduation ceremony on the 15th! And just a heads up, this month Joe will be coming in town for 10 days so I am sure I will have lots of fun stuff to share, and Jessy Chambers (my bestest friend that lives in Arkansas) is due to bring Miss Jada into the world on the 20th so I will def be making lots of posts, updates, and love notes in regards to my sweet little niece!

Weekend Fun

What a weekend!
Saturday started with all the excited of my little sister Taylor’s senior prom! She is very lucky that for all of her dances and special occasions I have gotten her ready. Curled and fixed her hair in every style that she has wanted, painted her makeup and done every final touch to make her look as gorgeous as she wanted! This year was no exception. The nicest part about helping her get ready is the time that we get to spend just she and I and the feeling of overwhelming trust and confidence that she has in me to make her vision a reality. I will say that this time it was very bittersweet…

Then after Taylor went off to dance the night away… I went out for a girls night for Jordan’s birthday!

Me and my bestie, The Birthday Girl

Lauren came in town to celebrate with us!

So much fun… and what made it even better was that I got to wear new shorts that were a size 6! Yay! My weight loss and fitness are really paying off and I am just a couples sizes away from my new goal! My original goal was a 7 but now I am thinking a 4 is do-able! Lol
Yay for getting in shape... My cute new shorts!

After our girls night was over I went with my hubby to do something not so fun…
His bulldog Sissie passed away Saturday so we went to his parents and laid her to rest. Very sad, but sweet because she had a very long and happy life. We love and miss you Sissie!

We finished our weekend off with a birthday party and then dinner with the Turners! Much needed and so fun… can’t wait to do it again!

Little Miss

I think that since I have dedicated a little post to Lyric I will also do one for my little Miss Remedy. Just a few things that I want her to remember…
1.       You are special, and you always will be, don’t let anyone make you feel like less than what you are.
We have been through a lot in such a short amount of time with you, from meeting you three weeks early and having to wrap you in a bright lite blanket to get rid of jaundice, and then our experiences to St.Louis Childrens Hospital. We almost lost you. We were so close to something terrible inside your body happening and then within a few moments everything changed and the amazing team of doctors told us that you were just special and unique. What a great feeling that was. It was incredible to hear that you were fine, better than fine you were special. This was something that I already knew but now I can tell you with so much more truth. Remember as you grow all of the battles that we have overcome before you even had tools to defend yourself, like your voice, mind, and character. You are so special and you are meant to do great things, don’t ever let anyone tell you differently or make you think that you are anything less than amazing.

7 days old

In St.Louis Childrens Hospital... Your IV was so sad :(

Getting a check up

2.       There is nothing wrong with being a true lady.
You will see girls that will do crazy things for attention, and sometimes they will receive that attention, but just remember the kind of attention you want. You want positive attention and being a lady, using your manners, and being polite will get you farther in life that joining in and following.  Your daddy and I love you and we know that you can be a leader, and a lady!

3.       Being the baby sister isn’t always fun, but your big brother loves you.
Of course you two will have times when you will irritate each other and I am sure there will be days when you would rather do anything than spend time with him. Just know that deep down inside he loves you. He wants to protect you and be your hero. And he needs you. He needs you to make sure someone has his back when he is doing something he knows Dad and I won’t approve of, he needs you to help pick out what he will wear for his first real date, he needs you to be there when he is upset and doesn’t want any of his school friends to see him cry. There will come a day when you look back and realize part of the reason you are the person you are is because of the things you learned and taught your big brother.

4.       It’s ok to be afraid.
I am sometimes the type of person who scares easily; if you are like me in that respect it is ok. Being afraid is not always a bad thing; however do not ever let your fear keep you from taking chances. You have to take as many chances and seize as many opportunities as possible so that you know what you want out of life. Each chance you take you will learn and grow from and with each opportunity your fear in things will decrease.

5.       Laugh!
Life is short. In that short time you will meet many people, see many things, and stay very busy. Don’t forget to laugh as you live. If you aren’t having fun the memories won’t be as special.

I was laughing at your crazy hair!

6.       Marry a man as wonderful as your Daddy.
I know that you are so little that this may sound crazy but this is one wish that I have for you. You dad is an incredible man and he makes me feel even more incredible. He is a provider and an excellent father. When you get to the point in your life where you are thinking about forever, think about all of the things you love about your dad, about the way you see our marriage, and about how you grew up… then make sure the person you are thinking of has those qualities. Marriage is fun, hard, fulfilling, exciting, terrifying, and perfect as long as you have the right partner.

7.       Always wear clean underwear!
You never know what will happen when you leave the house. Your Gramie always told me that you don’t want to be the girl who was in an accident and on top of everything the nurses talk about your nasty panties…!

8.       I will always be your best friend.
I am sure that we will have our moments where we don’t see eye to eye. I had those my moments with my mother, and she with hers, and so on and so on. I want you to know that in every decision I make, every rule I enforce, and everything I teach you I will always have your best interest at heart. With that said, I will always be your mother first, and then your friend. I want to be your best friend and I want you to know I will always be here for you. No matter what the situation or outcome, you will be my best friend too!

Our first day together :)

9.       You can be ‘handy’.
My parents didn’t do a very good job of teaching me some simple things that would help me with situations I was sure to face like changing a flat tire, checking the oil, changing light bulbs, fixing electrical problems, ect. Thank the lord that your Dad was taught more than enough and he is still teaching me. Let him teach you. I know that these things may not be fun but they are survival skills that you will need. Daddy and I will always be here to help you but you never know what situation may arise, because of the unknown take a Saturday and let Dad teach you a few life skills.

10.   Daddy, Lyric, and I will always be by your side. You will have so many friends throughout your life and unfortunately some of them will come and go. You will have fall outs with groups of friends, experience the terror of cliques, and even have the heartbreak of loss. Through all of this we will be here for you. Family is the most important thing, love is second, and if you remember those things you will never feel alone. WE love you. Your family will always love you more than you will ever know.
Taking you on your first real adventure... The Circus

Our happy Little Miss
